This book contains more than 20 major works on the history of rice cropping research by Mr. Zeng Xiongsheng, a doctoral tutor of the Institute of Natural Science History of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an expert in agricultural history since 1986, involving paddy field agricultural tools, rice field planting systems, and rice crops.

曾雄生，世代業(yè)農(nóng)，種稻、植棉、樹(shù)橘。1979年入學(xué)江西師范大學(xué)，習(xí)史學(xué)。1985年至1988年入浙江農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)（今浙江大學(xué)），受業(yè)游修齡氏門(mén)下，專(zhuān)攻農(nóng)史。自1988年始迄今供職京師之中國(guó)科學(xué)院自然科學(xué)史研究所。主要從事中國(guó)農(nóng)史、水稻栽培史、農(nóng)業(yè)文化研究。
Author Introduction
Zeng Xiongsheng has been a farmer for generations, planting rice, cotton and tangerines. In 1979, he enrolled in Jiangxi Normal University and studied history. From 1985 to 1988, he joined Zhejiang Agricultural University (now Zhejiang University) and majored in agricultural history. He has been working in the Institute for the History of Natural Science (IHNS), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) since 1988, focusing on Chinese agricultural history, rice cultivation history, agricultural culture research.
